The Club presentations were awarded at the Annual Dinner in the Horizon Hotel on Saturday 3rd November.

Stuart Benson won Ayr Seaforth’s male athlete of the year. The 26-year-old RAF man travels from his base in Lincolnshire to boost the club’s track and field team. In the Scottish Senior Championships, he won silver in the 200 metres (21.48 secs) and was a close fifth in the 100 metres (10.95, heat 10.73). Stuart, from Troon, is ranked third fastest in Scotland for the 100 metres (10.73) and 200 metres (21.74). Runner-up is 18-year-old Andrew McElwee.
Female athlete of the year is 18-year-old Elaine Montgomerie from Coylton. She competed regularly for the club and Team West in sprints, long, high and triple jump. She won double gold in the Ayrshire Championships in the U20’s 100 metres (13.9) and triple jump (9.63). Elaine also took silver at the Scottish Schools senior triple jump with 9.98 metres.
Other club awards: Simon Campbell Memorial Trophy for best achievement U17 men): Aaron Kyle.
Ernest Thursby Trophy for excellence in field events: Rachel Whittle.
Hazel McNee Trophy (for best achievement U17 women): Claire Taylor.
Sean Carson Memorial Shield for excellence in throwing events U13 to U17: James Gaffney. The 12-year-old is ranked third in Scotland for the U13 shot putt.
Paul McPate Shields for best newcomers: Wallace Graham (12) sprints and Kendal Ross (12) sprints.
The Andy Smith cup for special contribution to the club went to Jan Burnside who has been a supporting member for 12 years, membership secretary for seven and committee member for eight.
Jan has been a team manager and in addition to doing many behind the scenes roles is also a graded Scottish athletics official.
Laurence Baker was the winner of Cross Country Championships during the winter with Connell Drummond as runner up. Connell Drummond then won the club road race championship with Laurence Baker as runner up.
