Indoor League Update

Meeting 3 of the scottishathletics Indoor League took place this past Sunday. Official cumulative results have not yet been published but we expect 7 out of our 8 age group teams to have qualified for the final in March! This is an outstanding achievement for the club. Well done to all of the athletes who competed, and thank you to Team Managers Aileen and Russell for great organising!

Full results can be viewed on the SAIL website here.

The league final will be held on the 22nd March so save the date! We will need to field the strongest teams possible to secure podium places in each age group.

Highlights

U12s

Our U12 boys and girls did fantastically well across the board with many top 3 finishes in the 60m and 600m. Caleb Robb had a great run in the 600m taking 2 seconds off his PB with a time of 2:00.29. Isla Proctor set a big new PB in the Long Jump going over 4m for the first time with 4.03m which was amazing!

U14s

Although the U14 boys didn’t qualify for the final, they have been very close in points sitting in 6th place out of 14 teams. Well done to Riley Marshall-Watt for taking almost 1 second off his 60m Hurdles best.

In the U14 girls team Abigail Good reduced her 800m best by 5 seconds with a massive winning time of 2:27.19 which was 16 seconds faster than the next athlete! Sister Emily also improved her 200m PB to 28.34s.

U16s

Riley Fulton once again performed very well in the 800m with the fastest time of the day by almost 6 seconds. He sets an impressive new PB of 2:08.87. Riley also ran the 2nd fastest 200m time of the morning in 26.41s. Findlay Ledger was competing in the Long Jump after being out of action for a few months. He bounced back nicely with a jump of 5.06m which was good enough for 2nd overall. Finn was also joint 2nd in the High Jump clearing 1.45m.

In the U16 girls team Isla Milligan set 3 new PBs in the 60m Hurdles (9.69s), 300m (42.89s) and Long Jump (4.84m). Well done Isla! Olivia Fisher also earned maximum points with wins in the 100m and 200m. That’s with tired legs after racing at the U18 champs the day before!

U18s

Well done to Callan Blackwood with an outstanding performance in the 200m. He finished 1st overall with a time of 23.85s well ahead of the rest. Congrats also to Ricco Begnor for jumping 1.70m in the High Jump for 2nd place overall! Kieran Murphy improved his Shot Put best by almost 1m with a throw of 9.55m.

The U18 women’s team came out on top once again in their age group with the majority of athletes earning top 3 finishes in most events. Well done to Katie Ablett on setting a new 60m PB with a time of 8.56s!
